Skills and Experience:
Kevin has widespread experience of the LifeSciences /Medtech sector with over 26 years experience with MedTech organisations including senior manager and Board level positions with Johnson & Johnson, Sherwood Medical, NMT Safety Products and AorTech Critical Care. Latterly he has spent 5 years as CEO of Medical Devices In Scotland and was past Chairman of MedilinkUK, the umbrella organisation for regional medtech support organisations. Following a degree in Business Organisation Kevin has extensive Sales, Marketing and Business Development experience with both large multinational corporations and with new starts both in UK and internationally . A Globalscot, with an extensive network of contacts internationally, in particular with Medtech Industry Associations such as MassMedic in Boston, LifeScienceAlley in Minnesota and CAMDI in China.
Kevin has gained strong experience of business planning and project delivery, and has a Mini MBA in Medical Technology Management from the University of St Thomas Center for Health and Medical Affairs, Minnesota. Kevin sits on the LifeSciences Proof of Concept assessment panel and is a participant in the Industry Advisory Group. He has worked closely with Government agencies, the NHS, NHS Procurement and has supported companies at all stages in the route to market.
As Product Sector Champion with UKTI for Medical Technology and Healthcare he provides knowledge and experience in medical technologies to UKTI, Dept of Health, the NHS, BERR ( Dept for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform) and UK regions.
