Innova Partnerships is pleased to announce that Kevin Wilson, former CEO of Medical Devices in Scotland, has joined the Company as an Associate.
Kevin has extensive experience in the medtech and healthcare sector and was responsible for starting up a new division within Aortech and, more recently, built MDiS to an industry association with over 80 members. He has also held senior positions within Blue Chip companies including Ethicon, a division of Johnson and Johnson. Kevin's background is in Sales, Marketing and Business Development with both large multinational corporations and with start ups. As a Globalscot, he has an extensive network of contacts internationally in particular with Medtech Industry Associations such as MassMedic in Boston, LifeScienceAlley in Minnesota and CAMDI in China. Kevin is a former Chairman of MedilinkUK (the national association of regional medtech support organisations) and has strong experience of business planning and project delivery.
Innova launched its Associate programme in July this year and the first two Associates to join the Company were ex-Stirling Medical Innovations Ltd employees, Mr Malcolm Yeudall and Ms Margaret Maclennan. Kevin's appointment significantly builds on the company's ability to work with SMEs.

The Life Science investment and partnering company, Innvoa Partnerships Ltd, today has announced that it has made a cash investment into Burdica Biomed Ltd as part of an initial investment round into the company. The investment is Innova's fourth cash investment and adds another company to the Innova portfolio. The investment follows on from a partnering agreement whereby Innova has been supporting Burdica with its business development.
CEO of Burdica Biomed Ltd, Mr Kevin Burd said "The involvement of Innova Partnerships in our business is a great asset, following up with a cash investment demonstrates their belief in us and of our companies success". Innova Parterships launches Associate programme.
Today Innova Partnerships launched its Associates programme and appointed Mr Malcolm Yeudall and Ms Margaret Maclennan as the companies first Associates.
Mr Yeudall has over 25 years experience working with R&D based organisations. His achievements were in developing a web-based process for diabetes strip manufacture that now produces over 4 Billion diabetic test strips annually and more recently with Stirling Medical Innovations where he played an instrumental role in the formative years of the companys' development.
Ms Maclennan joins Innova as an Associate after spending a number of years in the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device industries where she led biostatistics teams. Margaret gained an MBA from the University of Glasgow.
Commenting on the appointments CEO Dr Steve Howell said "The appointment of Malcolm and Margaret will significantly increase our potential to work with SMEs as we continue to build the Partnering side of our business. We are thrilled to have such high calibre people join us."

Healthaware Ltd., appoints Fiona Gavine as CEO.
The Innova Partnerships portfolio company, Healthaware Ltd., has appointed Fiona Gavine as CEO. Commenting, Healthaware co-founder Dr Geoff Hall said, "Fiona brings a wealth of experience that will help drive Healthaware forwards. We are delighted that she is on-board and we look forward to working with her as the business expands".
Fiona has extensive first-hand experience in a range of industries that include Electronics/Technology, Pharmaceuticals, Manufacturing and Medical Research. Her career has included senior positions within Zeneca plc, Compaq plc and Hewlett Packard plc. Commenting on her appointment Fiona said, "Healthaware has great potential and is building exciting health-based products and services. Linking health diagnosis with lifestyle coaching for self improvement offers people the ability to really impact their own lives. We have an excellent opportunity here to improve the lives of many people in Scotland and the UK and I am looking forward to making this happen."
The appointment follows on from the investment in Healthaware by Innova Partnerships in July last year. Healthaware was founded in October 2004 with the aim of promoting the prevention of chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease.
